Winter Tradition
Snowshoe Hare Hunting Behind Beagles
One of Maine’s great winter traditions — run our trained beagles through classic hare cover while you post up for the shot. Great for groups and first-timers.
A Classic Maine Winter Hunt

Snowshoe hare hunting behind a pack of trained beagles is one of Maine’s great winter traditions — and one of the most fun, social hunts we guide. We run our beagles through classic Central Maine hare cover (cedar swamps, old cuts, and thick softwood) while you post up for the shot as the dogs circle the hare back around.

It is a perfect hunt for groups, families, and first-time hunters. Plenty of action, plenty of stories, and no experience required. Roland handles the dogs and the strategy; you bring warm boots and a shotgun.
